Decorative Arbor

We are blessed to have GREAT neighbors.  But, as you can see, we didn’t have much privacy and decided an Arbor would be a good solution.
Arbor Before

The Arbor was built like a fence. You could also purchase pre built fencing sections, however, our dimensions required us to custom build.
#1 First, we dug two post holes and placed the 4x4 posts using quick drying concrete. This created the sides of the Arbor.
#2 We attached the top and bottom 2x4's laying flat with fence hangers. This gave us the frame.
#3 Additionally, we toe nailed two 2x4's spaced evenly between top and bottom allowing us to attach the bamboo.
#4 Once we attached the bamboo, 1x2's were used to frame the bamboo.
#5 To finish the top of the Arbor, we angle cut two 2x6's and nailed to both sides of the 4x4 posts, then angle cut each end of short 2x4's and toe nailed those into the cross boards.
A spot was dug out for decorative rock , we put the trees in pots to control the growth, added a hanging flower and wind chime.    Arbor After   AFTER
