Easy to Make Embossing Buddy

The perfect trio for embossing is  the VersaMark pad, an eye shadow brush (Dollar Store) to brush away any carry over embossing powder on your project, and most importantly, the embossing buddy to counteract static, saving you all that unnecessary cleanup.
DSC_0220  Our Sister’s week is a few days away and neither sister has an embossing buddy.  My embossing buddy is my best friend in humid weather and I think they will like these.
I used the following to make one embossing buddy:
  • 3 x 6 flannel fabric piece folded in half and sewed the sides together.
  • In a small bowl mixed 1 Tblsp baby powder and 1 Tblsp corn starch.
  • After filling the pocket 3/4 full, stitched the top closed and added a decorative finish.
If you don’t want to use baby powder you can also use body powder, talc or cornstarch.  Leaves a nice scent to the card.
Another helpful hint, save your used fabric softener sheets to clean away any white powder residue on dark card stock after embossing.  Works great.
Would love to see your creations, send me an email!
Happy embossing!

  1. Excellent idea. I love my embossing buddy but I don't like the price of them. I think all my stamping friends are getting these for Christmas. Thanks for sharing.
