Lisa’s Dairy-Free Homemade Cashew Milk

In our family we have two young girls, age 7, suffering from stomach problems.  Watching our young ones suffer while Mom struggles  to find a solution that doesn’t include a drug regime (need I mention side effects?) is exhausting, frustrating and discouraging for the entire family.
For the past six months our house is slowly making a few changes,  Transitioning to gluten free has been a first step.   I am finding whole foods can cause allergies.  The verdict for me is still out on grains.  It is a journey that requires effort and time, but well worth it! 

What I do know for sure is….GET RID OF PROCESSED FOODS!   Pintrest has helped me find some AMAZING alternative diets such as Paleo!  Full credit is given to the wonderful women who share these recipes with the world.  God Bless you!

Credit for this recipe goes to Lisa Wells at who, like myself, enjoys her morning cappuccino.  This no preservative, non-dairy milk rocked it for me.  It looks like milk and tastes far better than store boxed nut and grain milks.  This is one recipe to pay it forward.  Thanks Lisa, you are my hero!

Lisa’s Dairy-Free Homemade Cashew Milk

  • 1 cup raw cashews
  • 4 cups filtered water, plus water for soaking
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey

  1. Cover cashews with water and soak overnight.
  2. Rinse and drain the cashews.
  3. Add cashews, 4 cups filtered water, vanilla and honey to Vitamix.
  4. Blend on high for 2 minutes - set a timer.
  5. Transfer to pitcher and refrigerate until well chilled.
  6. Stir or shake well before serving.
If you like flavored coffee you could add Stevia flavored drops to this milk.   That will be my next batch!
