Ikea Butler’s Pantry

I can’t say enough about IKEA products.  A girl loves a good bargain and IKEA makes my dreams come true!  My husband and I enjoy cooking together and have accumulated those essential appliances, toys and gadgets.  Yes, storage was becoming a problem….for Christmas we decided our gift to each other,  convert a space we had in the laundry room and finish it into a butler’s pantry!

Several years ago we built upper cabinets for storage and finished them with glass doors.  It was a fun project, but time consuming and a bit costly.  For the lower cabinets we shopped IKEA and found self-closing, full extension drawers in two separate cabinets that fit PERFECTLY into our space.  What luck!

Here is how we did the install:

12After

Remove countertop, support strip, reroute electrical and remove entry door.

We built an 18” and 36” cabinet in just under 2 hours….so easy!

After removing the drawers, we installed the base cabinets, made adjustments per the directions, set the drawers and made those adjustments.  PERFECT fit!  Once the cabinets were square, we cut and installed the countertop.

This is the point in any project when you can see the end coming….installed drawer hardware, repaired and painted the door jam and the fun part, décor!

A project just isn’t complete without a little help from my Silhouette Cameo!
